Our History
The Tip of Texas Volleyball Chapter began locally over 40 years ago. At that time only a handful of Valley schools played volleyball. Gradually the Valley grew; participation grew; the chapter grew. In the late 1990s the chapter split retaining its namesake in the western Valley and spawning the Southmost Chapter in the eastern Valley.
The Tip of Texas Volleyball Chapter now services approximately 150 junior high and high school campuses including the UIL, TAPPS, IDEA, Vanguard and other private schools. The districts serviced by the chapter include 31 and 32-6A, 30, 31, and 32-5A, 32-4A, 31 and 32-3A, 32-2A, various TAPPS and private school districts. Counties serviced include Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, Willacy, and Zapata. The chapter's jurisdiction ranges a distance of 122 miles from La Feria to Zapata. The midpoint of the chapter as designated by the UIL is Pharr, Texas.
